I've recently (w/in last 7 years) purchased two GE appliances ...

Fridge and Dishwasher.
The fridge had to get fixed three times (under warranty thankfully) for a design flaw in the circulator fan (ice would accumulate on the blades and eventually the fan would fail and the fridge compartment wouldn't stay cold). After that was fixed, no issues except for the water dispenser inlet solenoid/valve that went bad this year.
The dishwasher (upper end w/ SS interior) was a mess from the start. Installed unit #1, it immediately started leaking. Not from any of the user connections but from a molded connection on the side of the tub.
Got that replaced, unit #2 worked ok for about a year and started randomly turning off. Replaced both circuit boards, worked ok for about another year and started doing the same thing. Read online that it was a systemic problem, that's when I bought the Bosch.
GE is now owned by Haier (Chinese) too.
